Oversized Sliding Glass Doors:

Enhance your living space with oversized sliding glass doors that seamlessly bring the outdoors inside. These expansive windows transform your home's ambiance, creating a refreshing and open environment. You might have seen these in various homes, but you may not realize the subtle differences in their frames.

The frame, whether metal or vinyl, surrounds the window pane and plays a crucial role in the functionality and aesthetics of door and window systems.

In the homes we design and build, we often utilize sliding glass door systems or pocket sliding glass door systems. We've been incorporating these systems for years.

While the concept of sliding glass doors isn't new, recent advancements in the last five to seven years have led to smaller, more structurally sound frames. These smaller frames allow for larger expanses of glass, giving a nearly invisible frame appearance and creating broader views.

Mega-size window systems are not only wide but also tall, making them ideal for warmer climates. Modern and contemporary homes often feature these large glass systems as a key architectural element.

You can achieve a wide door system spanning 16 to 20 feet while maintaining a reasonable budget if you keep your header heights (the height of your window) at eight to ten feet.

However, exceeding these heights to 12 or 14 feet can significantly increase costs. The engineering required to support such large glass panes involves substantial structural considerations to ensure durability and smooth operation over the years.
